Beijing 2011 Hutong 胡同

I had been growing up in a small Hutong in Beijing.  The color of Beijing was gray in my little mind. It has been staying the same after all these years , luckily.

It was a nice early summer day. Anette stood under the sun. I saw the "6 year old myself" ...
It feels so nice to bring her back to a place where I spend my childhood.
This is so precious to me! For memory....

Ohhh! When I was in Beijing I didn't get to visit the Hutong eventhough I really wanted to!

I love that Anette got to see where you grew up, it's like coming full circle.

Hello! Sorry I was away and I am so happy to see so many wonderful posts! The Mongolia collection is stunning: the colors, the shapes, the movements, lovely as can be! I wish I had a little girl... but maybe I can something for Petit Caramel!
Your photos of China are wonderful and it is so nice to learn more about you this way.
Many kisses to all and good luck with the return to classes!

Dear Kenza, I am happy that you are back. Had been missing you. Thanks for your encouraging words, I am so grateful...

I am waiting for your next baby, it must be a baby girl:)

Dear Hopscotch, what a pity did not visit Hutong. It is a part a "real" Beijing. I know you will do it next time:)

What a wonderfull promenade thorught Beijing's Hutong, listening to the sound of 琵琶. There are also many memories for me... I was about 18 when I first wander around these 胡同. I'm happy to see that they are still the same.

Lovely photos! It's so nice to be able to take your daughter and show her where you grew up. I lived 5 minutes walk from my grandparents house as a child - from my front garden I could see their spare bedroom window. It made for a rooted and grounded childhood - and it's nice you can share this with your children too!

Oh these beautiful beautiful images.. And your girl, so pretty! How lucky is she and you as well, to bring her back to your childhood home. It looks beautiful. I hope one day I get to bring my girl to where her grandmama grew up.. I hope I get to go there too! : )
