Morning Walk

...

If a child is to keep alive his inborn sense of wonder, he needs the companionship of at least one adult who can share it, rediscovering with him the joy, excitement and mystery of the world we live in.

----Rachel Carson [The Sense of Wonder]

Anja and I  took a morning walk the past Sunday. The sunlight was yellow. The  frost was white. And the grass was still bit green.  She was happy, dancing and jumping all the way.  And she was delighted to see the ice, the cat, the leafs, the shadow and the light....

Anja is wearing a sweater which her Dad used when he was at Anja's age. See here. I wish to make good enough children clothing as well that people would like to keep them and pass them to next generations. I am thinking of you when I write this sentence. And I miss you! You have alway been in my heart for this two weeks. ..

i am not sure why this post got me choked up. something about the nostalgia of that sweater (it is absolutely beautiful) and the light and angles of these photos, equally as stunning. i wish i had something from my mom's childhood to cherish now and pass on to my own daughter.

These pictures are so beautiful! I love the green hat, did you knit it?
