A quite day today...the girls went to the grand parents. I am making sample clothing for the coming season. I can not help to think my mom and my grandmother.... I remembered my grandmother was dressed in black or white color traditional Chinese Style blouse, she had a good looking face with a smile, always. Even though she was a 60 something granny, she was so beautiful in my eyes. She had some treasures in her black wooden box. Some of them are embroidery band, which are almost the same as shown in the pictures (I found the band in Norway and bought them immediately). I was curious about what the embroidery band are used for and thought they were so pretty. I might have got an answer but I don't remember anything now. I learned from her how to do embroidery around 6 years old. It was very common for Chinese girls to learn how to do needle works at an early age at that time, but not anymore. My mom made clothing for us when we were young. She liked to do some embroidery to the collars , wristbands or somewhere else to make it nicer. Last year I was back to Beijing, she still asked me if I need her to do some embroidery to my clothing... She is 76 year old now. It is a pity that I am not good at writing neither in Chinese nor in English, so lacking of words. However, I am happy that I can make some clothing to attach some of my emotions... I am so grateful that both my grandmother and mom have granted so much treasure to me. .. nothing materialistic can compare to it. Thanks, grandma and mom, for all those good memories...

My parents at about the age of 27 year old in Beihai Park, Beijing, China, 1959.
