China Memory 1 青花

I am going to post a series of "China Memory" pictures . It will be about my good memories of my homeland, my childhood, and the sky in the Northern China. I have not met so many chinese at blogspot space, maybe, I think it is my "duty" to show some beautiful chinese things since not so many others are doing so. Let me start with this 青花 blue and white bowl. I would like to write more about china from my country, however, I am just speechless....too emotional to be a blogger...

wonderful series that you are starting. interesting... I just made a post precisely related to China. The bowl is magnificent and the colors and shapes match so well the photo of the sky. Lovely post --very dreamlike. I really like it!

Dear Fei An, it's a great idea! Actually, it's more than just "great". It seems that I could not find the right words to express my feelings ... China, my origin ...

On the path as a designer, I keep on searching and searching our cultural identity ... I never feel easy to find myself an answer, even till now. People like me, born and grown up in HK, went through the colonial reign ... have a strong identity struggle after 1997 ...

In the blogsphere, like being traveled to other parts of the World, in contrast to other cultures, I feel definitely I'm Chinese. Especially, when come across child raising, I know I have a VERY Chinese mentality which I cannot deny and erase.

I am emotionally attached to Chinese like you in the blogshere, feeling warm and close. I love the multi-nationality exposure of the blogsphere, it helps me in finding, knowing, building myself as a Chinese designer :)

It's very interesting that iza does not share the same struggle as me ... maybe she's small now ... but she's very indulged in Chinese art and culture.
She loves Chinese literature, history, ink painting, calligraphy, architecture, clothes ... and Kung Fu :) I know, she's proud to be a Chinese. I think this will be totally different for Anja and Anette because they are Norwegian :)

Fei an, thanks so much for your lovely pictures and the China memory series.

Dear Alliot, Thanks for all your words, and I am so grateful.

As for me, this thousand of miles away from China really reminds me I am completely a chinese. And I wanna show the good sides of China to people. I really think chinese should be better at presenting themself to the world. So, here start with myself. Maybe not good enough "presentation" in the beginning, However, I will make an effort to make it better time after time.

I understand what you are talking about your identity struggle, to one point, I am "lucky" that I don't have any doubt about my identity no matter where I live:)

As for Anja and Anette, I think they would think they are 100% Norwegian even though half part of them are Chinese. I think they have an advantage that they will be naturally intertesed in Chinese Culture since they have a Chinese Mother. That is nice and I don't want force them into anything:)Bring them back to China every schoolholiday would relly help with their connection to China.

Nice to have someone like you to bla bla a little bit:) Have a great week!
